Across the Pacific to Australia
By Andy Hilton | August 17, 2016
Paradise explored from Tahiti, Bora Bora, Tahaa, Suwarrow, Niue, Tonga and Vanuatu. Swam with reef sharks, manta rays, turtles and hundreds of coral atoll fish. Ate lots of coconut, fish and some unrecognisable foods, but survived and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Seen some amazing atolls in the middle of nowhere, the Pacific Ocean is incredibly massive and vast beyond belief. Miles and miles of ocean and little to see on the long passages, only each other for company !! Silky soft sand, prickly sharp and dangerous coral, lovely friendly people, lots of pearls and palm trees. Coral of many colours. Weather varied and sometimes stormy with rough seas. Whoever named the Pacific ‘The Passive Sea’ was telling a great big lie.
Met some wonderful tribal communities who we exchanged gifts with in Fiji and Vanuatu.
Visited uninhabited paradise islands with sleepy palm trees and powder soft sand, stood at the top of an active volcano and swam in gin clear warm waters.
